HOW TO POST A SONG IN A CYBER NURSE CHATROOM

Are you visiting from one of the Cyber Nurse Chat Rooms? And you wanna know how to post a song from this jukebox in the chat room so everyone can listen?

Pick a song......Right click.......choose Copy Link Location........go back to the room you are chatting in and type the following in the chatbox:

<a href="place your song's addy here">Title of the Song</a>

To place the songs addy where it belongs, left click on the mouse, and choose Paste.

If you are posting from the jukeboxes located in the room, go to the jukebox, and highlight the formula. Do not highlight the title of the song just the formula. Go up to edit on your browser and choose "copy" then come back to the room and in the space to post your message, be sure to place cursor here, go up to edit and choose "paste" then, click the "talk or listen" button. Your song should appear in the room!~ Neat huh?

Love, Anneliese

HOW TO MAKE STREAMING REAL AUDIO

To make Real Audio songs stream, you will have TWO files. One is the actual Real Audio song itself, and the second file you will be making is the one that tells the browser where to stream the real audio song from.

1st STEP:
Make your Real Audio song as usual with the Real Audio Encoder. The Real Audio Encoder program takes a wav file an converts it into a real audio file. There are many ways of making wav files, some programs even come with Windows. If you do not have the Real Audio Encoder, you can download it at
www.real.com.
When you enter the name of the song you are making, save it with a "ra" ending. The default in the encoder is to make it with a "rm" ending. You can type this in manually, and make sure you have no spaces and all lower case in the name of the song. So save the song (this is an example name of course) as "song.ra"

2nd STEP:
This second file you will make is a text file. It tells where to stream the actual real audio song from. SO, open up your Windows Notepad program. Type in: pnm://"Your Server Name":7070/"Your User Name"/"directory name"/song.ra
Be sure to put the upper and lower case in the proper places.
Save this file as "song.ram" (not song.txt).

Now, you have two files, one called "song.ra" and one called "song.ram" (these are example names of course. You can name the files whatever you want, as long as both are the same, and one has a "ra" ending (the actual real audio song) and one has the "ram" ending (the text file). You are ready to upload now, and that is the.......

3rd STEP:
You need the WS FTP program, (or if you have a one of those free web pages, like at Geocities, you can use thier upload utility). I keep a shortcut on my desktop for this program, because I use is A LOT! This is the program that uploads files to your web site. This is instructions on how to upload the files you just made above to your web site. OK, now open the program. When you first open the program, and two windows open up, the top one is called "Session Profile". In the field called HOST NAME put: ftp."server name"
In the field called HOST TYPE use the default which is: "automatic detect"
In the field called USER ID put: "your user name for your site"
In the field called PASSWORD put: "your password for your site"
Dont worry about any of the other fields. Click OK.
Now you should see it go to the lower window and connecting up to your web site, and on the right side you will see a list of the files you have at your site. On the left side you need to find the folder on your computer where you have saved the above two files you just made. Then a list in that folder appears. Highlight the files you want to upload (same way you would hightlight files with Windows Explorer). When you have them all highlighted, click on the arrow button that points to the right. Now you should see it sending the files to your site. It will take a little time, but you can go do other things while you are uploading. When its done uploading, the directory of your files at your site will be refreshed. Don't forget to close this program when done uploading!

 4th STEP:
Now you need to add hyperlinks to your web page to the "ram" file you made. The HTML for this if your "ram" files are in the same directory as your web page is:
<a href="song.ram">SONG</a>
Or if you keep the ra's and ram's in a different directory it would be:
<a href="your_url/directory_name/song.ram">SONG</a>

THATS IT! Feel free to send me an EMAIL if you have any questions!
