Love Hate LA
There are days when I hate
The City
Dog eat dog days
One-half country girl
One-half city girl
Tug of war days
Los Angeles, city of Lost Angel souls
Live differently than
New York, city of never sleep Big Apples
The people that create this city
Spread like pioneers
Born from worlds were resources are low
They are naturally symbiotic
All these lives making something out of nothing
The air hangs thick with
Silk purses sewn from sow's ears
Tonight, I look over the Barrio....
Dogs and barrettas bark
Tires and children squeal
Horns scold and scold some more
Someone is having a party
The thump-thump music is interupted by sirens
People are laughing
While crickets continue to sing thier gig
And the ice-cream truck performs a solo
Los Angeles lights twitch
Hundreds of eyes that itch
Under the catylic converter breeze
Soon mother nature will sneeze
And the earth will shake
But life will go on....
